Momotarou Densetsu

Overview

Momotaro Densetsu is a role-playing video game series in Japan featuring the character Momotaro from Japanese folklore, as well as other Japanese folklore characters such as Kintaro, Urashima Taro, and Princess Kaguya of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.

Started in 1987, the series is produced by Hudson Soft. The title is sometimes confused with that of Momotaro Dentetsu, another video game series by Hudson Soft. As with Momotaro Dentetsu, the project supervisor for the Momotaro Densetsu series is Akira Sakuma, with illustration by Takayuki Doi and main music production by Kazuyuki Sekiguchi of Southern All Stars.

The Momotarou Densetsu games are based on a fairy tale that is about a boy that is born from a peach and is raised by an old couple. The game series begun in NES, X68000 and PC Engine with versions in SNES and Playstation.

Momotarou Densetsu is the first game for the Playstation console and features the classic RPG 2d gameplay with cartoon characters and with a first person perspective in the battles. The enemies are usually animals and devils.
