Donkey Kong 3: Dai Gyakushuu

Donkey Kong 3: Dai Gyakushuu is loosely based on Donkey Kong 3 but has some significant gameplay changes. Hence the new subtitle, which translates as "The Great Counterattack".

While the objective to shoot Donkey Kong up in the air remains, this version features 20 new outdoor backgrounds. After the player has completed the 20th stage, the game loops back at stage 21. Every five stages there's a Bonus Stage, where Stanley must spray all the bugs before the time runs out. Also, Stanley the Bugman can only move from left to right and his ability to jump has been removed, along with the need to protect plants.
