Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclysm is an updated version of the original Yatagarasu game developed by former SNK/King of Fighters developers. This version of Yatagarasu will feature numerous gameplay revisions and balance tweaks from the original version with new characters added to the roster. Funding for Attack on Cataclysm came through a successful Indiegogo campaign, where it raised over $118,000 USD dollars, exceeding its initial campaign goal of $68,000 USD and meeting numerous stretch goals such as the inclusion of new characters and GGPO online netcode for the PC version of the game. The game was initially expected to be completed by February 2014 according to the campaign page, but the developers could not meet its initial date due to numerous troubles in development. Backers of the Indiegogo campaign had access to the Alpha build of the game on August 2014 and the Beta build on December 2014. Yatagarasu: Attack of Cataclysm's development team released a competed version of the game for Japanese arcades on February 12, 2015. The PC version of the game was later released on PC for online retail on July 7, 2015. Indiegogo campaign backers received a copy of the game a week earlier on June 30, 2015. Yatagarasu: AoC creative talent personnel features anime and video game talent contributing to the game's art, voice acting, and soundtrack. Shirow Miwa and Suzuhito Yasuda (Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor character art designer) contributed the game's character art portraits. Yuki Kaji, Maaya Uchida, Masoi Koori, and others provided voice acting to the game's entire cast. Raito (Melty Blood and UNIEL music composer) composed the game's soundtrack performed by LIQU@.
