Overview

Solidarność is a political simulation of the Polish underground freedom movement that culminated in the Solidarity trade union in 1980. The action begins when the communist government enforces the martial law on December 13th, 1981. Player's goal is to win support of the citizens and thus weaken the oppressive government. At your disposal are political activists, whose propaganda actions may sway the regional populace (Poland is divided into 7 regions here). They may drop leaflets, place posters, call worker strikes or anti-Soviet demonstrations, set up illegal radio and TV stations, buy photocopiers, demand freeing political prisoners, go on hunger strike or make speeches. You may hear about your actions in the news, some of your people may get arrested. The two superpowers, USSR (which backs the regime) and USA, also observe the escalating events with great attention...
