#IDARB

#IDARB

Microsoft Xbox One - Released - February 1, 2015

#IDARB is a multiplayer arena ball game set in a 2D platform environment in which players compete on teams to try to score goals utilizing a ball. It supports up to eight players locally. In addition to the base game, players can customize their characters, and create victory songs and team logos via in-game tools. Food recipes can be unlocked by completing achievements, participate in betting on AI games in the Fantasy Gambling mode, and completing a single player mode with a comedic storyline. A distinct feature of the game, referenced through the hashtag in the title, is the hash bomb, which allows observers to influence in-game events via messages from a user-designated Twitch channel or sent to the Twitter account @idarbwire followed by a four digit unique game identifier. Hash bombs consist of a "#" followed by a word (i.e., a hashtag). The list of supported words has not been released by the developer, leading to much experimentation. After an initial prototype of a red box in a platform environment, the game's content was largely crowd sourced through Twitter messages. The game's name is short for I Drew A Red Box.

Nintendo DS - Released - January 18, 2010

With your trusty rocket pack, help Rusty defeat the Watchers in three intense levels of 8-bit retro-styled action. As the ‘80s were drawing to a close, the developers at Capcom began work on a top secret project that aimed to set new standards for the platformer genre. That game was called “Dark Void”. Alas, Capcom suspended development on Dark Void as it began to evaluate the SNES. Before long, the game was shelved and drifted, unnoticed, into the annals of gaming history. Dark Void became a legendary “lost project” at Capcom. Now, nearly twenty years later, Dark Void is back! To commemorate the game’s humble origins, Capcom has commissioned this recreation of the original 8-bit classic, now re-titled “Dark Void Zero”, on the Nintendo DSi system. You play Rusty, the first human born in the Void, who must take on the Watchers in a quest to stop their domination of Earth. With the aid of Nikola Tesla, and his state-of-the-art rocket pack, Rusty must take down the Watchers and their minions across three intense levels of action and intrigue.

Duty Calls: The Calm Before the Storm

Windows - Released - February 2, 2011

Duty Calls is a Call of Duty parody game, released as a part of Bulletstorm promotion campaign. The hero finds himself in Kemerovo, Russia and receives objective from higher USA Army to secure Nuclear Missile Bomb from the Secret Base. With only one gun at disposal, capable of killing anyone after two shots, he will pass through short level in a typical FPS manner and kill everyone along the way. The game consists of only one level and it constantly mocks features that are prominent in the Call of Duty series. It has a silly and stamped story about evil Russian terrorists, guts-like levels, harmless enemies muttering "I'm just another enemy soldier" or "Boring!", stereotypical bosses with long-winded speeches, explaining their defects and role, slow-motion scripted scenes, absurd military ranks gained for doing almost anything. And, of course: superiority of the United States.

The Stacks

The Stacks

Atari 2600 - August 1, 2012

Descending the networks of metal girders had always reminded me of old platform videogames like Donkey Kong or BurgerTime. I'd seized upon this idea a few years earlier when I coded my first Atari 2600 game (a gunter rite of passage, like a Jedi building his first lightsaber). It was a Pitfall rip-off called The Stacks where you had to navigate through a vertical maze of trailers, collecting junk computers, snagging food voucher power-ups, and avoiding meth addicts and pedophiles on your way to school. My game was a lot more fun than the real thing.

The first Yu-Gi-Oh! game to be played on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Legacy of the Duelist features over 6,600 playable cards and 90 characters, the most of any previous installment. The game allows you to play in various game modes all which require you to create powerful decks filled with monsters, magic and trap cards in order to defeat your opponent in battle. The story campaign of Legacy of the Duelist allows you to relive popular battles between characters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime. You begin by choosing one of the Yu-Gi-Oh! shows (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V) and then following in chronological order of the TV show you begin to duel numerous characters. Each victory against the opponent rewards you with 3 cards from the opposite deck, a deck recipe so you can recreate the opponents deck, and Duel Points (DP). DP are used in the card shop to purchase any one of the 24 booster packs in game. Once you complete any story mission the game allows you to participate in a Reverse Duel where you take control of your opponents deck and battle with it. Completing and winning in all of a characters duel will unlock a challenge deck; allowing you to face that character in a match of better cards and higher difficulty. Battle Pack mode contains both Draft Play and Sealed Play. In Battle Pack mode, the player begins by purchasing one of the three Battle Packs in game: Epic Dawn, War of the Giants and War of the Giants - Round 2. Then, if playing in Draft Play, the player is given 3 rounds to draft cards in order to create a 40 card deck. Sealed mode will automatically create the deck for you. Afterwards the player takes their newly created deck and uses it online to battle other players. Completing a match with 3 wins (or 3 losses), will give you the option to add those cards into your card trunk. The online component of the game allows you to duel against players from around the world. You can play in both Ranked and Unranked matches and each have different rules. Legacy of the Duelist adheres to the banlist of the physical card game. This means that certain cards deemed too powerful have been either completely banned or limited to 1-2 copies during duels by Konami. Playing online with Unranked rules allows you to ignore the banlist and use any cards you want in your deck. Meanwhile playing in Ranked will do the opposite and you prevent you from using the banned cards in gameplay. The game also features trophies and achievements, and the paid DLC allows you to purchase a story battle, reverse battle, and obtain special custom recipes not in game.
