Arena Football

Arena Football

Microsoft Xbox - Released - February 7, 2006

Arena Football is a simulation of the sport of the same name. It shares many similarities with the Madden Series, whose engine it uses, but has a different play-style thanks to Arena football's rather different rules. The game is played indoors with teams of eight on a 50-yard field and the sidelines and uprights have barriers to make balls that would go out of bounds in standard American football bounce back into the play field. It is still considered live at this point. Obviously, this makes the game much faster-paced and higher-scoring. Features include a coach's pick which will recommend plays, a telemetry view, which lets you see how tired both your players and the opposing ones are along with passing routes so you can set good match-ups, a quick play mode, a season mode, which allows you to go up to 20 seasons and trade players, set salaries, etc, practice and online play. Arena Football is officially licensed by the Arena Football League and includes all the teams and players from the 2006 season. New Orleans VooDoo is not included as they sat this season out due to hurricane Katrina, though their logo is available to use for created teams. Numerous historic teams are also available.

The franchise mode has been enhanced and now includes player training via mini games and a Front Mode (akin to Owner Mode on previous versions). There is a new rookie potential feature, that tags players either "gems" or "busts" after a few years in the league, depending on their draft potential, with these tags influencing their stats. Madden NFL 11

Madden NFL 11

Sony Playstation 2 - Released - August 10, 2010

The 2011 installment of the Madden NFL series headlined new features such as a play-calling system titled "GameFlow", a new game mode titled "Online Team Play", and an assortment of other features. The game was advertised as being "Simpler, Quicker, and Deeper" than previous versions of the game. The superstar mode for the Wii version was removed from this Madden installment. "GameFlow" enables the player to create a situational game plan based on down and situation, and is advertised to speed up playing time as much as one half of the total game time from previous years of "Madden". Another addition is "Online Team Play", which supports 3 vs. 3 cooperative play. Players can also scout opponents in online head-to-head games to gain a competitive advantage. Other changes from previous installments include a new kick meter, new audible system, and an improved locomotion animation system. Lighting improvements, run blocking changes, new quarterback ratings, and a new Old Spice "Swagger" rating have also been added to the game.[2] Gus Johnson does the play-by-play broadcast commentary, replacing Tom Hammond. One reviewer noted, Johnson's "penchant for the dramatic in real life keeps you on the edge of your seat as you turn the corner for a RB sprint or heave a desperation Hail Mary." Cris Collinsworth returns as color commentator from previous editions.[3][4][5] "Madden Ultimate Team": Madden Ultimate Team is a downloadable game mode released on January 7, 2010. In this mode, users are able to build a team by purchasing player packs. These packs are purchased with coins that are earned by winning a game, scoring a touchdown etc. They can also be purchased with real money through the user's PlayStation Network or Xbox Live accounts. As the user gains more coins, they are able to buy better packs of players, eventually building their "Ultimate Team".[6] This mode has received some negative feedback with regards to 'Player Contracts' that are attached to each 'Player Card'. When purchased 'Player Cards' have a 10 match contract - this decreases by 1 every game (even if due to disconnection). When a 'Player Card' contract reaches zero you cannot use that player in your team until you replenish his contract. Replenishment of a contract on a 'Player Card' is done by a contract card that is purchased with coins. It is thus extremely difficult to keep a good team 'in contract' without spending real money. It is also possible to be in a position where you have a low amount of coins and not enough players to even play 'Madden Ultimate Team', unless you wish to spend real money for more coins. In order to buy contract cards to replenish your players contracts, or to buy new packs with - to try to fill the empty team positions that are stopping you from playing the mode

Sony Playstation 4 - Released - August 25, 2017

Madden NFL 18 is an American football sports video game based on the National Football League and published by EA Sports for the PlayStation 4. Longshot follows a quarterback from Mathis, Texas named Devin Wade as he tries to reach his dreams of playing in the NFL. Occasionally in Longshot, you will play Devin's high school and college games in flashbacks and there are also quick-time events and dialog trees, similar to games published by Telltale Games. Madden Ultimate Team Squads: Another new feature introduced in Madden NFL 18 are MUT Squads, which are 3 vs. 3 matches with friends (or other online players) against opponents. Madden NFL 25

Madden NFL 25

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Released - August 27, 2013

Description Madden NFL 25 is the successor to Madden NFL 13 in the NFL American football series. It uses different numbering in the series to mark the 25th anniversary of the series, but it largely a regular incremental upgrade in content. The Xbox One and PS4 versions use a different engine and were released at a later date with various enhancements. This yearly update includes the usual graphical tweaks, the full roster update and a number of new features. It retains the balance of managing, coaching and playing teams in both single-player and multiplayer. The most notable addition is the ability to play as the owner of a team in the Connected Franchise mode. Previously it was already possible to customize and be a player or a coach, with 32 players simultaneously online, and now the larger overall management is added. The game offers both fictional and real-life personalities. You still need to gain experience by taking on various challenges, but you also need to take care of a media strategy, the price of merchandise, finances, staff and possible re-location. Most existing game mode return in an enhanced and tweaked form, such as the Madden Ultimate Team where the online season is combined with a trading-card game. The game uses an upgraded Infinity Engine to manage the fluidity of players animations, team artificial intelligence and physics. The controls are tweaked with the addition of a run free mechanic where various modifiers such as jukes, spins, dives, stiff arms and trucks can be pulled off. These modifiers are based on the individual players' statistics. They make movement less linear and can be combined into combos to achieve larger runs. As a new addition the game offers various practice modes for it. On the defense it is now possible to lock on to enemy ball carriers to make tackling easier in an open field.

NASCAR 07

NASCAR 07

Microsoft Xbox - Released - September 6, 2006

NASCAR 07 is the tenth installment of the EA Sports' NASCAR video game series. It was developed by EA Tiburon and released on September 6, 2006 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PlayStation Portable. This was the last NASCAR edition to be released exclusively on sixth generation consoles. The NTSC game cover features Elliott Sadler, driver of the #38 M&M's Ford Fusion. The PAL region game cover features Matt Kenseth's #17 DeWalt Power Tools Ford Fusion. This game is the first since NASCAR 2001 not to include a subtitle in the name. The game retains the teammate features introduced in NASCAR 06: Total Team Control, but does not add any major gameplay changes. However, the graphics include a blurring effect to attempt to give a better sense of high speed, and the pace of the gameplay has been sped up considerably. This is also the second EA Sports NASCAR video game to appear on a handheld system (first NASCAR 2000 for Game Boy Color). On the PlayStation Portable, the game is simply called NASCAR.

NASCAR 08

NASCAR 08

Sony Playstation 2 - Released - July 23, 2007

NASCAR 08 is the eleventh installment of the EA Sports NASCAR series. It was developed by EA Tiburon and released for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This is the earliest that EA has released a NASCAR game. It also marks the first time the original Xbox has been excluded from the NASCAR lineup since NASCAR 2001. Tony Stewart is on the cover marking his third appearance on the cover of an EA Sports NASCAR game. The cover in the PAL region features Juan Pablo Montoya. NASCAR's new Car of Tomorrow as well as the current car are present in the game, although the Car of Tomorrow is generic (no separate manufacturers). ESPN's NASCAR coverage is also integrated into the game. Crew chief dialogue for the PS3 and 360 versions of the game was recorded by Chad Knaus. The Whelen Modified Tour is not included in the PS3 and 360 versions of the game, but is still present in the PS2 version.

NASCAR 09

NASCAR 09

Microsoft Xbox 360 - June 10, 2008

NASCAR 09 is the twelfth installment in the EA Sports NASCAR series, it is the sequel to 2007 game NASCAR 08. It is developed by EA Tiburon and released on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and mobile phones in North America on June 10, 2008. On March 12, 2008, EA announced Jeff Gordon as the cover athlete for NASCAR 09. Through the career mode, "Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup", Gordon leads a mentoring program, a new feature offered in NASCAR 09. This is also the third EA Sports NASCAR video game to appear on a handheld system for Mobile phone version. In October 2007, Electronic Arts moved the PlayStation 2 game development to a new studio in North Carolina to be able to get better information with the NASCAR teams in an attempt to improve the game. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were still made at the old studio. Due to the development team using certain resources to work on key features in the game, no car manufacturers were present in this year's title. To date, this is the last NASCAR game to be produced by EA, and the last NASCAR game for the PlayStation 2, after suffering from slumping sales, the difficulty of installing new features, and the lack of popularity. In 2009, NASCAR Kart Racing was released, replacing any 2009 installment for the annual series. It may be EA's last game before their exclusive license with NASCAR expires. Yet the door to NASCAR games for the PlayStation 2 has been shut, as Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 was not featured for the sixth-generation console. For game players in Canada, while the game was still released only in English, the instruction manual and box cover were bilingual, with text in both English and French.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were still made at the old studio.[5] Due to the development team using certain resources to work on key features in the game, no car manufacturers were present in this year's title.[6] To date, this is the last NASCAR game to be produced by EA, and the last NASCAR game for the PlayStation 2, after suffering from slumping sales, the difficulty of installing new features, and the lack of popularity.

NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup

NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup

Sony Playstation 2 - Released - August 31, 2004

NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup is the eighth installment of the EA Sports' NASCAR video game series. NASCAR 2005 is the first game in the series to drop the word Thunder from the title since NASCAR 2001. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevy Monte Carlo, appeared on the cover replacing Jeremy Mayfield who was originally to have been on the cover. It also marks the first time the original PlayStation has been excluded from the NASCAR lineup. This was the first NASCAR edition to be released exclusively on six generation home consoles. Unlike previous entries, which would normally add a few extra features but leave most of the game identical to its predecessor, the game brought massive change to the series. One example is the inclusion of NASCAR series other than the NASCAR Cup Series; the Busch Series (renamed the National Series to avoid an M rating from the ESRB for alcohol advertising, though the series is still referred to in-game as the Busch Series by the player's agent and Bill Weber), the Craftsman Truck Series, and the Featherlite Modified Series, plus production cars and the Daytona Prototypes of the Rolex Sports Car Series. More examples include the implementation of NASCAR's new Chase for the Cup points system, and Fight to the Top mode, where the player controls a custom driver throughout his career starting in the lower series and working up the ladder (similar to NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona). Another change is the absence of the cockpit view and the absence of makes and models in the Truck series, all of which appear to be Ford F-150s. Also due to failed negotiations with licensing Pocono Raceway is not included. The score is composed by David Robidoux

NASCAR Racing

NASCAR Racing

Arcade - Released - 2007

EA Sports NASCAR Racing is an arcade racing game developed by EA Tiburon and released by Global VR. The game was released on August 3, 2007 at the AAMA Gala. Up to four racers (10 with the version 1.1 update) race against each other and the CPU in one of the major NASCAR tracks (i.e. Daytona International Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, etc.) Damage is visible but does not affect performance (until one crashes), and AI will frequently wreck. However, at the end of each race the racer receives a halo if they did not try to ram other racers and a pair of red horns if they did. The cabinet for the game supports motion feedback (but makes turning harder). The game features a selection of songs from the soundtrack of NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup.

It is the fifth game in the NASCAR series of video games, and is the first of the series to have a new title (the other games simply read "NASCAR", followed by the year). Notably, it is the first NASCAR game to feature alternate paint schemes on the cars. It featured the 2001 Cup Series Champion Jeff Gordon on its cover and 2000 Cup Series Champion Bobby Labonte on the disc. Game modes consist of Create-a-car, Quick race, Season mode, Career mode, and practice. Before every race, the player has the option to qualify for a position at the start of the race, get to know the track in practice, or 'race' other cars in Happy Hour. The game has 35 drivers from the 2001 Winston Cup season (minus Dale Earnhardt due to his death, but the game has many tributes to him including a black No. 3 screen on start-up) and several then-Busch Series and fantasy drivers that can be unlocked.[1] The PlayStation version was separate from the PS2 and Xbox versions, included only 36 drivers, and included an instant-replay feature, fantasy tracks, and only 18 drivers per race, and all of the alternate paint schemes were removed. A system of power-up/cheat cards and challenges, similar to Chase/Thunder plates and Lightning/Dodge Challenges in later editions, was a major game mode in this version.

NBA Elite 11

NBA Elite 11

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Unreleased - June 14, 2013

NBA Elite 11 is a basketball video game developed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by EA Canada and published by EA Sports, originally slated for an October 2010 release. Aiming at a refreshing gameplay experience, with changes that would include new mechanics and game modes, EA Sports opted to drop their long-standing "NBA Live" franchise moniker – used since the 1994 installment NBA Live '95 – in favor of a new identity, "NBA Elite", reflecting the publishers' desire to “pioneer a groundbreaking change in the basketball videogame segment.” Although the game's production went as far as seeing copies pressed and a demo released, concerns over the quality of the product resulted in its release being delayed and, weeks later, officially cancelled. Since a limited number of physical copies of the PlayStation 3 version made it to the hands of consumers, NBA Elite 11 is now considered one of the rarest games for the platform, with some copies being sold for thousands of dollars.
