Aikaetsivä

Commodore 64 - Unreleased - 1986

In 1986, Tapanimäki completed a text adventure game (in Finnish) inspired by Infocom's games called Aikaetsivä (Time Detective in English), for which Tampere-based Triosoft reserved publishing rights. The game was briefly mentioned in MikroBitti magazine in the “Commodore insider” column and was advertised with the slogan “buy a Finnish game!”. However, the game was never released because the publisher did not consider the potential economic benefits to be covered even to cover marketing costs. In the amateur circles of Finnish text games and science fiction, Time Detective was well received, and it was even compared to a novel made into a game.

Moonfall

Moonfall

Commodore 64 - Released - 1991

Moonfall is set on the moon Frontier Alfa which was once colonized by human settlers. Unfortunately they were enslaved by an alien race later. After even more time passes, the player arrives on this moon. He does not become a slave, however, but receives a trading license. The big goal of the game is to earn enough money to buy every base, factory, station and plant in order to free humanity. Similar to Elite, this is a mix between a trading and an action game. The player travels over the moon, visits the settlements and buys/sells one of the 18 different goods. Of course it is important to know where which product is needed in order to receive a good profit. This should not just be saved but also reinvested into weapon upgrades (additionally to the starting laser shot, homing missiles and mines) to survive space pirate attacks. The player may also choose to go into the pirate business and attack freighters. The ship has a high-speed travel motor to speed up the traveling time between settlements after choosing them on the navigation computer. There are also some missions to do.

Netherworld

Under a time limit you have to collect diamonds to get to the next level. The game is filled with dragons, moving mines, acid spitting creatures and lots more. Your space ship is able to shoot, furthermore you can collect several power ups, such as sand glasses to ease the time limit, shield restore or items that give you invulnerability.

Octapolis

Octapolis

Commodore 64 - Released - 1987

By the year 3897 the Galactic Imperium had conquered almost the entire galaxy. Only the planet Octapolis could resist the empire with telekinetic powers that turned the best pilots into bumbling idiots and caused the most sophisticated A.I.s to blow a fuse. However, after 200 years of searching, the Galactic intelligence Agency found a pilot immune to the effects of the mental powers and sent him to deactivate Octapolis' defenses. Your task is to conquer all eight cities and deactivate the planet's defense system. Each level is divided into a shooter and a platformer portion. During the shooter portion, the screen is split in half, showing your ship from the side and from above. This means you cannot only move the ship forward, backward, up and down, but also to the left and to the right (by holding down the fire-button which enables you to control the ship's sideways movements in the bottom half of the screen). The ship fires automatically and once a certain number of enemies is destroyed or a time limit is reached, you have to maneuver your ship onto a certain spot and enter the city. Inside the cities, you must jump and shoot your way through five screen-sized rooms. Destroying "evil eyes" will reward you with bonus points. All other enemies cannot be damaged by your weapon and have to be avoided, which is made difficult by the fact that you cannot control your jump in the air. After leaving the last room, you continue to the next city.
