Overview
Secret Agent: Mission One is a graphical adventure game for the Apple II. Robert H. Melton, famed weapons physicist has designed the Energy Synchronizer, a device for concentrating high amounts of energy at specific coordinates, with atomic device like-power. He has moved to the coast off a little-known area named Batangali, and now demands to be made ruler of the world, or within 48 hours will begin to destroy the world's great cities. As a Secret Agent, you must infiltrate his island stronghold and de-activate the automatic firing device, which will cause the Energy Synchronizer to activate if his island is attacked. Upon doing this, the player must contact their superiors to initiate a bombing attack, and they will then have 30 minutes to successfully flee the island. Reservations have been made for you at the Batangali Hilton under the name Jose Caldera, and you have just 15 hours to complete your task. The player starts their adventure as their aboard their flight to Batangali, which is attacked by an unknown plane. The player must parachute to safety, but ends up in the Batangali hospital which they must escape. The player explores Batagali searching for clues how to reach Melton's island, while avoiding his thugs and other dangers. After sneaking inside a crate and taking a boat to Melton's island, the player must infiltrate his secret lair. Within the secret lair, the player must outsmart and avoid the numerous deadly trips in and around Melton's secret base. There, the player must temporarily deactivate the automatic firing device, and allow the base to be destroyed.
