The Xbox Series X, and the Xbox Series S are ninth generation (2020-) video game consoles that were released on November 10, 2020. The Xbox Series S was a lower cost variant of the Xbox Series X, lacking a disk drive and some higher end features of the Series X. Both consoles use a new storage solution called the velocity architecture which allows for more efficent data transfer between the console, internal PCIE 4 M.2, and external PCIE 4 Storage Expansion card. They also support USB storage devices which can be used for screen capture, sideloaded apps, and Xbox One games.
