Astroblast

Astroblast

Dragon 32/64 - Released - 1982

Astroblast is a classic invaders type game. Your ship is positioned at the bottom of the screen, and you can move sideways and fire your cannon at the approaching invaders. The invaders move from side to side and downwards while shooting at you. If a wave of invaders reaches the bottom of the screen, it will simply reappear at the top of the screen and you get another shot at defeating them. Don't waste too much time, though, as you cannot permit your ship to run out of fuel before you get a refueling opportunity. This game can only be played in black & white mode.

Doodle Bug

Doodle Bug

Dragon 32/64 - Released - 1983

Doodle Bug is a clone of the arcade game, Lady Bug, itself a close relative of the original Pac-Man. Just like the yellow pill-eater, you guide your sprite around a maze populated by nasties, and can only escape once you've eaten all the pills in the maze. A baddie in the centre of the screen will spawn a new baddie every time the running meter on the score panel has reached zero. The powerup system does not work like Pac-Man, though. No invincibility pills are available, instead, there are a number of letters from the words "special" and "extra" displayed at the top of the screen. When the letters are the same colour as the words they belong to, you begin to spell out those words, granting you either a "special" round or an "extra" life. Additionally, the heart bonuses act as score multipliers for your pills. Without any power pills, your bug is quite vulnerable. Therefore, the environment must be used to its advantage. Many walls in the Doddle Bug maze function like revolving doors which, when passed, will rotate to block the path of a baddie that could otherwise hunt you down.

Storm Arrows

Storm Arrows

Dragon 32/64 - Released - 1983

Storm Arrows is a variant of the arcade game Targ. The game takes place in grid-like network of streets where the player drives a land skimmer. The player is pursued by a group of seven imperial storm arrows who attempt to crash into the player. To complete a level all of the storm arrows have to be destroyed. Additionally there are imperial pursuit cruisers that lay contact mines on the street. If not destroyed these mines will turn into new storm arrows when there is only one storm arrow left on the screen. The skimmer is equipped with a limited number of torpedoes and when running out it is necessary to get new ones from refuelling stations that appear randomly on the screen.
