Overview

GeGeGe no Kitarō: Gentō Kaikitan is a sound novel adventure game based on the long-running manga series originally created by Shigeru Mizuki. It's winter, and snow has started to fall in the forest where Kitarō and his friends live... but even during winter, snow never normally falls in their forest, and Kitarō worries about what this might mean. The game follows standard sound novel format, with unvoiced dialogue and narration over still images depicting the current scene, occasionally interrupted by choices which branch the story path. There are three main scenarios that can unfold — one in which Kitarō investigates the recent disappearance of bodies, one in which he investigates the source of the mysterious snow, and one in which a fake copy of Kitarō himself appears — each with multiple endings depending on the player's choices.
