Overview

Taiko no Tatsujin 7 is the first second-generation Taiko no Tatsujin arcade game, which runs on the Namco System 246 that has similar specs to that of the PlayStation 2. As such, the graphics were overhauled. Unlike previous releases, all songs now can be played on all difficulties. The Highest difficulty, the Donderful difficulty, has been renamed as Oni. The name of said difficulty in English was stayed as such until the release of Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session!. Staring with this game, the song categories were overhauled, and stayed as such (with new song category additions over time) until the release of Taiko no Tatsujin (2020). The Yam notes, invisible modifier and the Go-Go Time system, which were first introduced in Taiko no Tatsujin: Go! Go! Godaime, was implemented into the arcade platform for the first time.
