Overview

Mogumogu Gombo: Harukanaru Chou Ryouri Densetsu is a role-playing game based on a children's cooking program called Mogumogu GOMBO, broadcast on Japanese television from 1993 to 2003. The game itself has little to do with the program it's based on, apart from the presence of characters inspired by the presenters and the relationship with cooking. The scenario is that of a character going to rescue his mother kidnapped by pirates. There are several characters to control, who fight individually. You can switch characters at any time during the fight. Characters inspired by the hosts of the original show fight hand-to-hand, while the fairies, who are encountered later in the game, use magic. Food and ingredients are very important in this game: to use their magic, fairies need food, and this is obtained by preparing meals using ingredients obtained through successful battles. You can also earn money by selling foodstuffs.
