¡Que pasa Neng! El Videojuego

¡Que pasa Neng! El Videojuego

Sony Playstation 2 - Released - December 11, 2006

¡Qué pasa Neng!: El videojuego is a game released exclusively in Spain starring Neng de Castefa, a comedic character from the early 2000s Spanish late-night talk show Buenafuente. The game consists of five mini-games, each of which have to be completed three times in order to move onto the next and unlock the game for free play. El Embalaje: a Tetris-style game where you need to use falling blocks to fill up three 12x4 rows in order to make room in Neng's car for passengers. Any blocks sticking out the top will disappear and cause you to lose points. The blocks that fall are identical to those in Tetris apart from the line piece, which has been reduced from four blocks long to three blocks long. Ambulancia: in this game, button prompts appear at the top of the screen in the form of vinyl records corresponding to one of the four face buttons on your PlayStation controller. Successfully pressing the correct button will add the record to your stack. If you press the incorrect button, or don't press the button fast enough, all the records in you stack will disappear. This first person to complete their stack of records is the winner. Spot Konstitu: in this game, flies are flying around the screen in-front of Neng. You've got to move your cursor to the flies and press X so that Neng will squish them with his nose. La Guardia: a simple Qix-like game. You control Neng's remote controlled car which you use to draw rectangles in order to claim territory. While you're doing this you have to avoid the bodyguards that are running around. La Fortuna Rueda: a slot machine like game involving cars. You have to spin a wheel then stop it to try and get it to land on the car you want. Matching three of the same car will give you points, and to win the game you need to match three Ferrari cars.

0-D Beat Drop

0-D Beat Drop

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Released - November 11, 2009

0D Beat Drop is a falling block puzzle game with musical elements similar to the Lumines titles (the beat matching system from those titles was licensed for 0D Beat Drop). But rather than scenic design, the player needs to combine the puzzling with matching the beat as an essential part of the gameplay. The basic layout is similar to Tetris. There is a playing field where groups of three pieces in a square of four tiles drop. To the right the next groups can be previewed and there is also a beat meter that moves along with the game's music. The goal is to avoid having the stacked pieces reaching the top of the screen. The groups drop and can be moved around and rotated. They need to be positioned to form matches of three identical pieces: horizontal, vertical or in an L-shape. These do not disappear right away when formed, but only when you perform a Beat Drop. When the pieces are dropped with a separate button when the beat meter is near the top of the bar, the matched pieces disappear, additional points are scored and a multiplier is built up. Timing it wrong does not clear anything, even if there are matches on the playing field. While the multiplier builds up, it becomes harder to match the beat and perform a Beat Drop. Eliminated pieces become shadow pieces and are sent to the opponent's playfield, similar to the Puyo Puyo games, as most game modes focus on competitive play against a friend or AI opponent. A good player will first stack up chains and then perform a large Beat Drop to attack the opponent, but due to the increased difficulty of making a successful drop at a high multiplier, there is a risk of missing it. In that case, all the shadow pieces end up on your own playfield. When you create a chain when the opponent is about to send you those pieces, you can create a chain yourself to counter and clear the pieces right away. Shadow pieces are shown as hollow objects and can still be used regularly to create chains. Advanced players can enter the Hyper Mode. When you allow shadow pieces to fall into your playfield twice, consecutively, without performing a beat drop, this mode is activated (with at least 42 shadow pieces). At that moment it is possible to make a huge comeback or risk it all. The single player game modes are:* Planet Quest: one player against the computer - Survival Four: one player against three AI opponents - Co-op With COM: work together with a computer player in 2-on-2 battles - Time Attack: reach a target score in three modes - Task: complete different challenges - Watch AI battle: watch two computer opponents play The multiplayer game modes are:* 2 Player Versus - 2 Player Co-op - 4 Player Versus - 4 Player Team Versus There is also a music player to listen to the in-game music and a Beat-O-Matic where your own music from a music player or the Xbox 360 hard drive is captured, analyzed and synchronized to be used in the game.

1 Across 2 Down

1 Across 2 Down

Commodore Amiga - Released - 1990

If you like crosswords, this one is really good. The game engine does not have any serious flaws but questionable is function to solve the crossword. All the fun is lost when you solve it and then do it on your own. For me it lacks some challenge mechanism, eg. Elapsed time of solving the crossword, high score table of the fastest solvers. Editor of creating your own crosswords also would be nice an add-on. Still, very good game (if you like such things).

By this point a number of software houses were releasing their own back catalogue collections making it harder for Beau Jolly to scoop up cheap licences to repackage the games in these packs. 10 Second Ninja X

10 Second Ninja X

Sony Playstation Vita - Released - July 16, 2016

10 Second Ninja X is the sequel to 10 Second Ninja with the same concept. In several small levels the player controls a ninja who has ten seconds to kill all robots. The background story is different. There is no Robot Hitler like in the original game, but now a pirate captain called Greatbeard who has captured all the animals the ninja protects and has turned them into robots. This, along with some other references, is a nod to Doctor Robotnik from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. While ten seconds is the minimum amount of time, players are encouraged to complete levels much quicker. This is to compete against other players on worldwide leaderboards, but also to earn up to three stars needed to unlock new sets of levels. The basic controls remain identical. The ninja can move left or right, (double) jump, attack with a sword and throw up to three shuriken per level. Greatbeard's zeppelin acts as a hub where different sets of levels can be accessed. The game has about 100 levels including the 40 levels of the original 10 Second Ninja remastered for this edition. Levels often have obstacles such as spikes and are meant to be played many times in succession to try different strategies and get faster times.

1000 Amps

1000 Amps

Windows - Released - February 22, 2012

1000 Amps is a monochrome puzzle game played as a platformer. The player controls Plug and has to restore the energy in the Amp-Tree-System. It has been disabled by an intruder and Plug needs to find a way to bring the power back to the four branches. The game is presented as a 2D platformer, but without enemies or ways to die; the focus is entirely on solving puzzles based on various gameplay mechanisms. A main one is that most rooms are dark, and they light up when Plug is nearby or bumps into the different tiles it comprises. That way, platforms, usually made out of tiles, become visible until the room is left. There are also antennas that lighten up all tiles for a short time. This can be used to plan a course of action. The energy in a room (and visibility of everything) can be restored permanently by activating energy nodes. Rooms usually consist out of multiple nodes, and they all need to be activated to "clear" a room. Leaving a room without finding them all returns everything to the initial situation. An additional use of the energy nodes is that they each provide a charge to Plug's internal energy system. By activating a node, he can jump higher and consequently reaches higher areas. To find all nodes, they often have to be found logically through the improved abilities. The jumping system is disabled when a new room is entered, unless all energy has been previously restored there. Added to the mix is a variety of tiles that can only be crossed in a single way, tiles that push Plug in a certain direction like an escalator, and tiles that appear automatically. Many rooms have tiles with a small border to the edge of a room that can be used to access a new room. Further, in the game, puzzles often exist of sequences spanning multiple rooms that can be approached from different directions. During the game, Plug can find five seeds. When all of them are found, all energy rooms can be enabled instantly when a room is accessed. A final mechanism introduced early on in the game is teleportation. Plug is controlled through the keyboard's keys, but once the teleportation technique has been mastered, the mouse can be used to select an area anywhere in the room for Plug to teleport to. It can also be done in midair while jumping. This drains the collected charge in the room, however, and teleportation can only be done in empty spaces, which are not always visible when the room has not been fully explored. There are 150 rooms in total.

140

140

Nintendo Wii U - Released - September 1, 2016

140 is a minimalistic puzzle platformer where timing is often tied to the rhythm of the music and visuals. The player controls a white cube that can go left, right or jump in an abstract environment with pulsating visuals and music. The cube changes form based on movement; it turns into a ball going left or right, and into a triangle when jumping. This is purely an aesthetic change and has no influence on the gameplay. The game consists of three large levels divided into smaller sections with checkpoints. To progress various platform puzzles need to be completed. These include regular jumps, temporary and moving platforms, grey parts that cannot be touched, temporarily reversed gravity, platform movement based on sound and more. To complete a section a small ball needs to be collected. When it is brought back to a large container, the next section is loaded. Each of the three levels ends with a boss encounter, each time with a completely different mechanic to defeat them. When the game is completed a mirror mode is unlocked where each of the three levels can be replayed in reverse. In addition these need to be completed in one go as dying immediately returns you to the main game hub.

The game starts with the numbers in a scrambled order, just like in the picture puzzle. There is always one empty square into which you can slide one of the surrounding 4 blocks. The object of the game is to slide all the blocks back into their original numerical order. The problem is that since you have only one empty square to work with when arranging the blocks you inevitably place the puzzle further out of order in your attempts to solve the puzzle.

It includes a quick race (just a simple race of 1-5 laps), challenge (beat the star rating), championship (beat all the races), and two-player mode. The twist to this game is that it's not enough to come in first, but the player also has to be stylish. The star rating is used to unlock characters, tracks, and power-ups, and is increased by passing opponents, attacking opponents, collecting stars, setting records, and so on. Twelve tracks and characters are included, most locked at the beginning. 20 different power-ups can be found, for attacks, road hazards, speed, and odder effects.

2 Games in 1: Sonic Battle + ChuChu Rocket!

Nintendo Game Boy Advance - Released - November 16, 2005

Sonic Battle is a fast paced pseudo-fighting game, akin to Super Smash Brothers from Nintendo. Rather than being 3D side-scrolling, this game employs a 3D isometric view- not a static, sprite-based field though, it is comprised of actual texture-mapped polygons. The character sprites are 2D though, and while you think it wouldn't work- it does :P You can have 9 characters to choose from, 5 modes of play; Story, Battle, Challenge, Training, and Mini Games; you can link up 4 GBA's to fight your friends, each character has a bunch of moves you can use to beat the you-know-what out of whoever you're fighting. It has a system of selecting Aerial, Ground, and Guard based attacks, and depending on what type of attack you set for which area (aerial/ground/guard), you have a possibility of 9 total different special attacks to choose from (only 3 at a time in a match though) which you can change each time you lose 1 stock point. ChuChu Rocket is an action puzzler, designed predominantly as a multi-player game. You have indirect control over mice, and must guide them to the safety of a rocket, and away from a cat. You do this by placing arrows on the ground, which they will follow. The multi-player game is a frantic all-against-all duel, in which each player's mice will only follow instructions of their own colour. You can play this mode on your own against CPU opponents, or take on a series of predefined puzzles
