Aeolis Tournament

Aeolis Tournament

Windows - Released - July 16, 2020

Aeolis Tournament is a 3D party action game where up to 8 players compete in various game modes based on a simple one-button mechanic. Characters use an air cannon to control the power of the wind and affect their surroundings. It features physics-based gameplay, a tournament mode and local and online multiplayer play. Unique Mechanic The core of the gameplay is based on a simple one-button mechanic. Characters hold an air cannon that allows them to vacuum air in and release it as a blast. It can be used in various ways: pushing an opponent, grabbing, holding and throwing items as projectiles, navigating on slippery surfaces by giving yourself a push, etc... That mechanic is creatively used in each game mode and helped design games with a fresh feel despite being relatively familiar premises. It adds a depth layer to seemingly simple games. Easy to play, hard to master Meant as a friendly competitive experience, everyone will be able to enjoy themselves playing Aeolis Tournament. However, skills matter. Games are skill-based, varied and deep enough so that while the main mechanic is shared between each modes, the skills and strategy required are wildly different. Team game modes even add some cooperation elements to the mix! The difficulty curve is so that the game is as enjoyable for a family with young children who want a simple fun game and experienced gamer friends hanging out who want a friendly (or high-stakes) competition. Tournament Mode The heart of the game is the tournament mode where players will compete in a succession of games earning tournament ranking points after each of them. Whoever has the most points after the set number of games wins the Tournament. And bragging rights. Even when cooperation is asked of you during team games, you'll probably want to be the team MVP so you can earn more points so... even more competition! Additional Features • Progression and customization: By completing in-game achievements, the player will be rewarded currency to use to unlock in-game content. Character skins, game customization settings, an additional game mode, accessories for characters to wear and more! • A configurable experience, local or online: Solo against our AI, on the couch against friends, online against players all around the world or with a bunch of friends against strangers online! • Different chaos events in each game modes: Storm with thunder strikes, mudslides, lava geysers, falling meteors, air-dropping crates and blizzards will spice up gameplay and ensure that every game is different. • Destructible and interactive environment: Physics-based gameplay means that with enough force, you'll be able to break decor elements to reduce them to rubble! You can then pick up the pieces and use them as projectiles. • Power-ups: Power-ups spawn in each environment allowing you to get temporary effects like Speed Up, Force Up or Range Up to give you the crucial advantage to win the game! • Stats: Game stats are shown at the end of each game. For each game modes, 3 stats are registered. • Vast controller support on PC: Use of the Rewired plug-in for Unity and some in-house work means you'll be able to play on PC with most controller you can get your hands on.

Amstrad CPC - Released - 1984

Animal Vegetable Mineral is a version of an 'after dinner' game in which players have to guess a mystery object by asking questions to which the answer is either Yes or No. In this game the player thinks of an object and the game tries to guess it. The game comes with a very limited range of items, 'knowing' just two objects in each category. When the player submits an item the game does not have in its database the player is asked how the new item differs from the best answer the game could give. This information is then stored and so the game's repertoire grows. The game allows the player to review, edit, and store the database.

Anticipation

Anticipation

Nintendo Entertainment System - Released - November 1, 1988

Anticipation is a video board game for one to four players (both computer and human). The object of the game is to be the first to collect a card for each of the four colors on the game board. During each turn the computer will display seemingly random dots, then a pencil starts connecting the dots to form a picture. The first player to correctly identify the picture will earn a card for the color of the picture being drawn. As the picture draws, a dice on the screen will count down from 6 to 1. Whatever value is showing when a player successfully identifies the picture is the number of spaces that players game piece will move on the game board for the next turn. The color of the space the game piece lands on will dictate the category for the next picture to be drawn. Each game will choose four categories from the various options, which include: tools, man made, clothing, food, math, office, travel, music, things, natural, leisure, and many others. After you've mastered the easier skill levels, the difficulty can be increased which will present more complicated pictures, remove some of the dots from the picture, or eliminate the dots entirely. The game supports one to four players, however the NES satellite is not supported. If three or four players are competing, then two players will need to share a single controller. The control pad or A/B buttons would ring in a player who knew the answer for the picture being drawn, then the controller would have to be handed to that player in order to enter in the answer.

BrainStorm 128

Commodore 128 - Homebrew - January 11, 2015

Welcome to Brainstorm128! This program will "learn" the vocabulary you feed it (Okay, so it *doesn't* learn--it merely stores words in a database) and attempt to randomize the words and display a useful sentence. It is menu- driven, so you don't have to remember complex keys and commands. Its func- tionality should be self-explanatory, so it shouldn't be hard to use. Keep in mind that, like fortune-tellers and AI progrms, this program is merely a TOY. This means that you can't expect good results all of the time.

Brainstorm The Game Show

Brainstorm The Game Show

Windows - Released - 2002

Brainstorm captures the spirit of a typical quiz show game. A player can create a cartoon character with which to play alone, answering successive multiple choice questions in a set time limit. This is known as the Time Trial mode. There is also the Brain Clash mode where a single player can select up to 5 computer-controlled opponents to compete against. Further, there is a single-player Einstein mode where only level 3 questions (the hardest questions, and worth the most points) are used. Brainstorm also features multiplayer gameplay, where multiple players can take turns answering questions in Hot Seat mode on a single computer. Alternately, the players can compete against each other in real time via TCP/IP LAN play. The graphics and characters are cartoonish in appearance, and competing computer-controlled players (as well as the game show host) constantly toss out taunts (which can be disabled through the game's configuration). Brainstorm boasts over 6500 questions and are drawn from diverse categories such as literature, sports, geography, and science.

Brawlout

Brawlout

Nintendo Switch - Released - December 19, 2017

A new challenger has appeared in the platform fighter arena! Brawlout packs a punch with couch and online play modes, blending platform fighter mechanics and traditional fighting game play into a stylish and fluid battle royale. Striking the balance between the growing competitive scene and the genre’s party game roots, Brawlout hopes to cater to the veteran platform fighter, the casual fan and the newcomer looking to make their mark. Each character in Brawlout has their own unique playstyle, catering to specific character archetypes seen in other fighters. Whether you’re a die-hard grappler or a rushdown fiend, there is a fighter for you in Brawlout. There are currently six original characters and four popular indie characters to choose from that allow for varied play styles: - Dead Cells - Yooka-Laylee - Guacamelee - Hyper Light Drifter As well as cosmetic skins, each original Brawlout character has three Variants; alt versions of the character with different stats, outfits and even new moves. With these Variants, Brawlout’s cast numbers 25 individual fighters. Find the fighter and Variant that’s right for you and tear it up on the battlefield. Combined with familiar movement techniques like wavedashing and airdodging, Brawlout adds some extra mechanics seen in other fighting games. The Rage Meter builds up as you both deal and take damage, allowing you either break combos with the Rage Burst or unleash hell with the Rage Mode. The Rage Burst pushes opponents back, breaking their combos and allowing players to create some breathing room at the cost of half their Rage Meter. If the meter fills, you can activate the Rage Mode, increasing the knockback you deal while reducing the amount you take. As for modes, Brawlout has all you’d expect from a normal platform fighter and then some. Up to four players can compete in either Timed, Stock, Team Battles, FFA or Party Modes: - All on the same device - Each with their own device, without any internet connection, playing nearby - Online either with friends or other Brawlout players AI opponents are also available if you want to practice your team combos with a friend, or if you need to fill out a free for all. Train with Advanced Tutorials or go in for yourself in challenging Arcade Towers and the all new Trials mode.
