Armor Attack II

Armor Attack II

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2013

Armor Attack II is a continuation of the exciting and addicting arcade game made by Cinematronics in 1980. Like the original, this is a one or two player battle-action game where your jeeps (equipped with rocket launchers) defend war torn landscapes with 16 different terrains that are randomly chosen at the beginning of each level. The play field is a top view of cities with road and building areas defined. Players (jeeps) and enemies (tanks) can only maneuver on the roads, however the enemy helicopter can go over buildings and roads. No shots by anything can go through buildings, as they are only valid over road areas. Debris left by tanks is sometimes destructive, so make sure to shoot them from a safe distance! The object is to accumulate the maximum number of points possible. In a two player game, both players play simultaneously and neither player can shoot the other. The player(s) must avoid being shot or run over by the enemy tanks, and avoid being shot by the helicopter. If a player shoots a helicopter, the bonus level is incremented by 10 points. When the fifth helicopter is destroyed an extra jeep is awarded to the player who shot the helicopter the fifth time. (Bonus Levels: +10, +20, +30, +40, extra jeep and reset to zero). The player's turn is over when he/she gets shot by the tank or helicopter. In a two player game, the level does not reset and the player does not return (if he/she has any lives left) until both players are shot. If a player shoots a tank once, there is a time limit to shoot the turret. If a player does not then shoot the turret, it will explode automatically and no points will be awarded. Skill Levels Each Skill Level starts the player at different points in the game (including the player's score): Easy: On the 'Easy' Skill level, there are fewer tanks, they don't shoot as often, move much slower, the turrets follow you very slowly, and the helicopter doesn't shoot often. Normal: The 'Normal' skill level is for players who are familiar with the game and features a good balance of difficulty and challenge. Hard: On the 'Hard' skill level, there are many more tanks required to complete a level, they shoot much more often, move quickly, the turrets follow you immediately, and the helicopter shoots much more often as well. If you are able to get through a few of the more difficult levels, a second helicopter is brought out to further hinder you.

Asteroids

Asteroids

Atari 7800 - Released - November 1, 1987

Start blasting! It's your only way out of this cloud of hurtling astral bodies. Peripheral vision. Lightning reflexes. And cool control. That's what it takes to save your ship. And your life! - 8 waves of devastating asteroids. - For 1 or 2 players. - Competing player ships can appear on screen simultaneously.

Asteroids Deluxe

Asteroids Deluxe

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2007

...It seems as though you've been here before - but this time, it's much worse! The Asteroids are faster, the enemy ships are much more skilled marksmen than your first time through this galaxy...and what's this odd hexagon-shaped craft I keep hearing about? Asteroids plunge at you! Trapped in a gigantic cloud of asteroids, your struggling spaceship hurls towards its doom. You'll have to pulverize all the asteroids with your photon cannon to save your ship and your life! Rubble from an exploding asteroid bounces off your ship's hull. A glowing blur flashes across your viewing screen. So that's where the rubble came from! The asteroid was blasted by an Alien Robot Saucer! Alien Robot Saucers are also trapped in the asteroid cloud. And they fire at you! You know that the metal in your ship's hull will register on their target finders before the asteroids do. The saucers could be a worse danger than the asteroids! More rubble strikes your ship. Its hull rings like a bell. If you don't get busy, that could be your death knell! Robert DeCrescenzo brings another classic Atari arcade game to the Atari 7800: Asteroids Deluxe! If you're a fan of the original arcade game Asteroids or its sequel, Asteroids Deluxe, you'll want to grab your joystick and start blasting! Asteroids Deluxe brings new graphics and gameplay elements into play, such as the Killer Satellite that when shot breaks into smaller pieces that take direct aim for your ship! There are also two new game variations: Competition Asteroids where you compete against another player for points (and your shots destroy the other player!), and Team Asteroids where you and another player share reserve ships and don't need to worry about friendly fire. Asteroids Deluxe for the 7800 is an extensively modified version of the original Atari 7800 game Asteroids.

Astro Blaster

Astro Blaster

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2014

Astro Blaster is an Atari 7800 port of the arcade game of the same name, created by Robert DeCrescenzo, who has many excellent arcade conversions under his belt. In Astro Blaster, one or two players must advance through squadrons of alien ships in an attempt to dock with the mother ship. Players move their ship left or right and shoot at attacking squadrons. A special warp button allows the player to slow down the alien space ships and their laser fire, while maintaining his/her own ship and laser fire at normal speed. As players enter each new sector they encounter a different number of alien squadrons. Players must destroy all ships in each squadron to pass through the sector. One squadron of rockets is extremely difficult to destroy, but players can pass through this squadron by hitting a few enemy ships. Once a player has destroyed all the squadrons in that sector, he/she enters an asteroid belt. The player must maneuver and shoot his way through the asteroids to reach the mother ship. If fuel is critically low when the player enters the asteroids belt, he/she can receive extra fuel by shooting the red fireballs interspersed among the asteroids. After passing through the asteroid belt, the player's ship docks with the mother ship and refuels.

Astro Fighter

Astro Fighter

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2015

Astro Fighter is a two-dimensional, space shoot 'em up arcade game released in 1980. It was developed and published by Data East in Japan and was published outside of Japan by Gremlin/Sega. Programmer Robert DeCrescenzo has now brought Astro Fighter to life on the Atari 7800! Astro Fighter is a one or two player game of space adventure. Two players may take turns, competing for the high score. The player's warship faces meteor showers interspersed with four lines of enemy defense forces in an effort to reach the 'Master' and destroy it. Besides the challenges of fighting ability, the player's warship has an expendable supply of fuel that must last through the fight with the 'Master'.

b*nQ

b*nQ

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2007

If you've ever played the 1982 arcade game Q*bert, then you're already familiar with b*nQ. Ken Siders has created a faithful reproduction of the popular arcade game for the Atari 7800 ProSystem. This is Ken Siders' second Atari 7800 homebrew written from the ground up. His first was Beef Drop, which is one of the most accurate ports of the arcade game Burgertime to any classic gaming system. The object of b*nQ is to score as many points as possible by jumping on cubes, jumping on green objects, and luring the Snake to his death. When all of the cubes have been changed to the “change to” color, you will advance to the next round. After every four rounds you will advance to the next level. Later levels require jumping on cubes multiple times and the cubes will change in different color sequences, increasing the challenge of advancing to the next round. b*nQ supports one or two players, so you can play alone or with a friend. You can select from one of four difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Adept, and Expert, for greater challenges as you become better at the game. You can also choose whether your joystick operates in "rotated" mode (where you rotate the joystick 45 degrees) or operate it in "normal" mode where you use your joystick's diagonals to move b*nQ around the pyramid. The label design for b*nQ was created by Darrin Rose, who won the b*nQ Label Contest held on AtariAge in November 2007. Not only does Darrin's winning design grace the label, but Darrin also created the b*nQ manual, which features more original artwork created just for the game.

Baby Pac-Man

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2019

Baby Pac-Man is the first complete home port of the 1982 Bally / Midway Video and Pinball hybrid game. While there have been may hacks to existing Pac-Man games to include the mazes from this game, there was never an actual home port with the more aggressive AI for the monsters, pinball section (on screen), or the new rules for energizers / tunnel speed. You must guide Baby Pac-Man through the multiple mazes, and avoid the most aggressive (downright nasty) monsters that ever existed in a Pac-Man game. Drop off the bottom of the maze to the pinball section, and you can earn energizers (you don't start with any), speed through the side tunnels to quickly outrun the monsters, and to advance the fruit level. You can also earn an 'extra life' through the pinball section by lighting all of the middle arrows. You have the added option of playing the pinball section only, the video section only, or the entire game as it existed in the arcades. There is also the option of using the more 'classic' monster AI (including no 'quick reversals') for slightly easier game play. It's the best of both worlds!

Ballblazer

Atari 7800 - Released - September 7, 1988

The game takes place on a flat, checkerboard playfield, and each player's half of the screen is presented in a first-person perspective.

Grandpa has given you an Atari light gun to help protect the farm. The moving targets are a challenge. Can you hit them? If not, try the veggies! They're fun to shoot at. In the barnyard, bottles and cans on the fence provide great practive for warming up the old shootin' iron. But perfect aim alone isn't enough. You'll need speed, too. In the cornfield, birds swoop from the sky and rabbits scamper among the stalks, Owls and other pests appear inside a barn. Each scene can only be reached by hitting enough targest in the scene before. Once you zero in on some fancy shooting scores, Gramps offers you a bonus round by tossing target bottles in the air.

Basketbrawl

Basketbrawl

Atari 7800 - Released - June 3, 1990

Vinne and Slash are bleeding from knife wounds and the ref is out cold! No wonder the gang members nicknamed this game "Basketbrawl." To them, it's not a game -- it's a street fight. This premise kicks off Atari's action sports game for up to two players. The objective in Basketbrawl is to become the baddest gang in the town by winning the Basketbrawl tournament. To win, you must play three games against each of the five gangs in your city. Each time you move up to the next gang, you will play a team with more players and more dangerous weapons. Each game lasts six minutes -- out score you opponent by shooting more baskets. Each basket is worth two points. If the game is tied after six minutes, the first team to score wins

Combat 1990

Combat 1990

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2005

Combat 1990 plays homage to the classic Combat that was packed with millions of 2600 systems. Unlike the original Combat, this version offers both single and two player games (although the two player game is cooperative, as opposed to head-to-head). Each player starts with five tanks, and your goal is to destroy as many enemy tanks and saucers as possible. In addition to firing projectiles, your tank features a shield that will protect it from incoming attacks, although firing will disable the shield. You can drive over energy pods that will replenish your shield to 100% strength. The game ends when you run out of tanks or five minutes has elapsed. At that time you'll receive bonus points for any remaining tanks and shield energy. Combat 1990 was written for the Atari 7800 by Harry Dodgson and was submitted in a 7800 Homebrew contest sponsored by Staticgamer.com in 2005. Combat 1990 received second place in the contest.

While Joe can fire his gun in any of the eight directions that he faces, his grenades can only be thrown vertically towards the top of the screen, irrespective of the direction Joe is facing. Crazy Otto

Crazy Otto

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2013

Crazy Otto was developed as an enhancement kit for Pac-man cabinets by General Computer Corporation (GCC). GCC also created an upgrade kit for Missile Command titled Super Missile Command, for which they were sued by Atari, but the suit was dropped and the two companies entered into a business arrangement. GCC went on to develop the arcade games Fight and Quantum for Atari, as well as games for the Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800 game consoles. As a drop-in upgrade for Pac-Man, Crazy Otto brought many changes to the game, although basic gameplay remained the same. Most notable is the main character (Crazy Otto) had legs and blue eyes. The monsters also have feet, as well as animated antennae. Other changes included new mazes, music, sound effects, and bonus fruit. Otto and his female counterpart were featured in three new intermissions, the last of which shows the arrival of baby Crazy Otto, "Junior". In October 1981 Crazy Otto was licensed to Midway, who had the rights to produce Pac-Man in North America. The only changes between Crazy Otto and Pac-Man are the visual representation of characters and various text strings. The decision was made to use the female character as the protagonist, and the game was renamed to Ms. Pac-Man. Ms. Pac-Man went on to become the most successful American-produced arcade game, selling 115,000 cabinets.

Stay alert! Your enemies now fire deadly blasts. In Berzerk, all walls absorb shots from you or the robots. In Frenzy, some cell walls ricochet the blasts--both yours and the robots--so watch where you fire! Worst of all is Evil Otto, the bouncing menace who passes through walls and destroys any creature on contact. It's a bizarre battle for survival as Evil Otto bounces toward you! Will you make it? Atari 7800 veteran Bob Decrescenzo brings arcade classics Frenzy and Berzerk home to the 7800, complete with all the details you'll find in the arcade games. Both games are reproduced with careful attention to detail to match their arcade counterparts as closely as possible. The original speech from the arcade that helped make both games so memorable is also included! For a new challenge, there are two-player cooperative and competitive gameplay modes. In cooperative modes, both players try to achieve a single high score and share six lives. In two-player competitive mode, each player has their own set of scores and lives. Galaga

Galaga

Atari 7800 - Released - 1987

Galaga is a vertical arcade shooter from Namco. You control a space fighter at the bottom of the screen, scrolling left and right in order to avoid oncoming bombs and kamikaze attacks from alien invaders--and to fire your own missiles to fight back! There are an infinite number of stages to progress through. Every third level is a "challenge stage" in which you have a free chance to shoot as many aliens as possible and rack up bonus points. Certain aliens have tractor beams they can use to capture one of your ships. If that wasn't your last "life," you can try to shoot that alien down and recapture your ship, giving you two ships at once and doubling your firepower. A summary screen appears when the game is over, giving you both your final score and you final "hit ratio"--the number of missiles fired, enemies destroyed, and the percentage of targets hit.

Atari 7800 - Unreleased

In Gato, you play the commander of a United States submarine in the Pacific Ocean during World War II against Japanese warships. Gato is a 3D real-time submarine simulation game. Gameplay consists of missions where the primary directive is to navigate your submarine to track and intercept (multiple) enemy warships (patrol boats, destroyers, etc.) on the randomly created map and close in for the kill with torpedoes. Combat itself consists of a direct visual of enemy ships (via periscope) and firing torpedoes at the correct angle to ultimately sink the ship. Be warned that although you have the element of surprise, enemy ships can fire back! When all hell breaks loose, an identified submarine is a sitting duck to those Japanese guns. Be prepared to direct your damage control team to fix up your damaged submarine ASAP! The mission ends when you have successfully eliminated all targets in the map.

If you eat the special Munchie (which flashes different colors), the Munchers turn purple, allowing you to eat them. K.C. Munchkin was released for the Odyssey 2 a year before Atari was able to release Pac-Man for the 2600. However, Atari had the exclusive home console rights to Pac-Man and sued Philips to force them to cease production of K.C. Munchkin. Although Atari wasn't initially successful, they did ultimately win on appeal, and Philips was forced to halt sales of the game.

Eating a standard energizer might make the maze and dots disappear for the duration of the energizer Maze colors are different as an indicator of 'Plus' mode 'Plus' mode is the equivalent of the arcade game Pac-Man Plus. 'Fast' Mode increases the speed of the player only when enabled. In total, you have 24 game variations to choose from!

Planet Smashers

Planet Smashers

Atari 7800 - Released - May 27, 1989

Planet Smashers finally delivered an original 2D Shooter to the Pro System late in its life. Your spaceship, which oddly looks like an airplane, has the grave task of defending Earth from an alien armada. Planet Smashers has some nice features like level warp codes, laser upgrades, cloaking devices, and interesting bosses. You even have the burden of defending Earth's shield from asteroids and alien ships. The back of the box boasts, "awesome sound effects", but the main laser noise is mind-numbingly irritating. After you defeat the game, you are treated to a text ending commanding you to play Alien Brigade, which makes little sense since you just defeated the alien mothership.

Plutos

Plutos

Atari 7800 - Unreleased

Plutos is a long lost unreleased prototype developed by Tynesoft for the Atari 7800, and appears to be a loose port of the ST/Amiga game of the same name. The existence of Plutos has been known for some time, as a physical prototype has been in hands of a collector for years, but this prototype was known to be unstable and crash frequently. The source code for Plutos was discovered in 2008 and several 7800 enthusiasts were able to get it compiled and running properly on stock 7800 hardware. Plutos is a vertically oriented space shooter that features gameplay similar to Raiden. The game features six different levels, each with its own unique theme and boss. Only three of these levels are unique graphically--the other three are just color palette changes. Plutos offers one player as well as two player simultaneous modes, selectable with the left difficulty switch. Plutos also has features a unique weapons power-up system. There are three different types of weapons, each of which can be upgraded up to four times, as well as an invincibility power-up. The three different weapons are: Dual machine guns, spread gun, and energy gun. A partially compiled version of Plutos was discovered by Curt Vendel, and thanks to the efforts 7800 enthusiasts Robert DeCrescenzo, Mitchell Orman, and Eckhard Stolberg, made playable on 7800 hardware. It's a shame that Plutos was not released as it was obviously very close to completion and would have been a boost to the 7800 library.

Rampart

Rampart

Atari 7800 - Unreleased

Rampart is an unreleased Atari 7800 port of the Atari arcade game of the same name. Your goal in the arcade version of the game is to build up a castle using pieces to form a wall around your territory. After your castle is built, you then place cannons and use them to fire at enemy ships or another player's castle. After each round you then have an opportunity to rebuild your castle before the next round begins. Unfortunately, the 7800 port of Rampart that is currently available is in an early state and not complete in terms of gameplay or graphics, which is immediately obvious by the lack of a proper title screen. Rampart requires a two-button 7800 joystick. You can select difficulty and number of players, including one player, two players, team or competition modes. Gameplay consists of shooting the enemy targets, which appear as "NME" graphics. The left joystick button fires your normal weapon. The right fire button will destroy all enemies onscreen. If you choose a two player game (team or competition), both players can shoot at enemy targets. There are several different playfield backgrounds depending on the game type selected, or if you play additional games. A partially compiled version of Rampart was discovered by Curt Vendel, and thanks to the efforts 7800 enthusiasts Robert DeCrescenzo, Mitchell Orman, and Eckhard Stolberg, made playable on 7800 hardware. Internal Atari memos from 1993 mention that the game is almost finalized, so a more complete version of the game must exist somewhere.

Your canisters will be in the center. You must guard your canisters from the pirates who will try to steal them. The pirates can appear from anywhere on the screen. Steer your ship with the joystick for left and right rotation. Move your ship forward by pressing the left button or up on a single button joystick. With that in mind, Santa has developed a program he calls Santa Simon to help the elves improve their memory. Scramble

Atari 7800 - Homebrew

Scramble is another faithful arcade port brought to the Atari 7800 by Robert DeCrescenzo! Each round consists of five stages and a 'base', or final, stage. Destroy any targets on the ground, or in the air. You can (and should) destroy Rockets, UFOs, Fuel tanks (to give you more fuel), Bonus Items, and the Base itself at the very end. You cannot, however, destroy Meteors and should avoid them at all costs. Each stage within a round challenges the player with a new type of enemy or terrain to maneuver: STAGE 1: Launching rockets STAGE 2: Ufos and caves STAGE 3: Meteors STAGE 4: Lauching rockets from tall structures STAGE 5: Winding maze of buildings BASE: The base itself that you must destroy Skill Levels As you pass each round of five stages and destroy the base, the game play starts over, and the difficulty increases. Your ship burns fuel at a faster rate, and the rockets, UFOs and Meteors become more aggressive. Easy: No Rockets launch and your ship burns fuel at a very slow rate. Normal: Only two launching rockets can be on the screen at a time, and your ship burns fuel at a normal rate. This variation is equivalent to the "Konami" version of the arcade game. Hard: Four launching rockets can be on the screen at a time, and your ship burns fuel at a very fast rate. This variation is equivalent to the "Stern" version of the arcade game.

Scrapyard Dog

Scrapyard Dog

Atari 7800 - Released - January 1, 1990

Louie, the junkyard guy, was just settling down to his regular Sunday afternoon lunch: a foot long head-cheese sandwich with tons of mustard, six garlic pickles, a two-pound bag of potato chips and a diet soft drink. (The diet soft drink was because Louie was watching his weight -- nobody likes a fat junkyard guy.) The phone rang and Louie picked it up, even though his mouth was full. He listened a few moments, and then sprayed crumbs of bread and head cheese all over the office. A dastardly dognapper gang kidnapped his best pal Scraps, the infamous Scrapyard Dog! If Louie doesn't hand over the deed to the junkyard, Scraps is dog-gone! Louie played along, and told the kidnappers he would bring the deed to the first checkpoint to receive further instructions. But it's un-American to knuckle under to kidnappers and terrorists, and Louie won't do it! He's going to go to the checkpoint and find out the location of the gang's headquarters, then he's going to rescue Scraps and rid the town of the puppy purloiners. With a few useful items for weapons (mostly old cans), Louie sets out to save his buddy Scraps. Can Louie save his cruelly captured canine, or will little Scraps end up dog meat? Find out, and help Louie save his Scrapyard Dog!

Sentinel

Sentinel

Atari 7800 - Released - January 1, 1991

You're a scientist, and your invention, a pulsating, glowing orb called the Sentinel, absorbs and stores energy from a variety of sources. Now Earth is threatened by deadly aliens and you must use your creation to save the planet. The Sentinel absorbs energy from every power pod or energy capsule you shoot with your Atari light gun. When an energy source is hit, a beam blasts out from the Sentinel, strikes the target with hissing force, and draws energy back into your Sentinel. It's up to you to protect the Sentinel as it glides over the planets. This was the only game for the 7800 that was originally released in PAL format only. Thanks to ResQsoft, an NTSC version is also available for gamers in the Western Hemisphere. Sentinel is a light gun game that is similar to Crossbow in the aspect that you are in charge of protecting your ally, in this case the Sentinel, from attack. The game features four stages, each which its own name and level boss. What makes the game unique is that shooting the large orange Sentinel acts as a smart bomb, destroying everything on the screen. While Sentinel is a very hard title to find in the wild in the Americas, this game is pretty common in Europe and can normally be purchased through online auctions at a reasonable price.

Serpentine

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2016

In an age when human beings have become an insignificant part of the landscape, mighty serpents rule the decaying corridors and pathways of our vanishing civilization. You have managed to tame several of the huge beasts to do your bidding, and now ride forth to rid the planet of their slithery cousins. Your serpent is fast, but the evil serpents are big, cunning and hungry. You will need to outwit them to chomp them down to size. An occasional tasty frog added to your serpent's diet will help it grow large enough to take on your foe. But bad snakes need nourishment too, and if they get to the frogs before you do they become dangerously assertive.

Sirius

Sirius

Atari 7800 - Unreleased

Sirius is a long lost unreleased prototype developed by Tynesoft for the Atari 7800, possibly a port of the 1990 Amiga game Sirius 7. Sirius' existence has been known for some time, as a physical prototype has been in hands of a collector for years, but this prototype was known to be unstable and crash frequently. The source code for Sirius was discovered in 2008 and several 7800 enthusiasts were able to get it compiled and running properly on stock 7800 hardware. Sirius is a horizontally oriented space shooter that will feel right at home to those familiar with games such as Gradius and R-Type. The game consists of four different levels, each with its own unique theme and boss. Sirius deftly demonstrates what the 7800 hardware is capable of and compares favorably with NES and Sega Master System games of the time. Unfortunately, Sirius is aggravatingly difficult and will require much practice and patience to succeed through all four levels. Sirius is a single player game only. The difficulty level (easy and hard) can be selected via the left difficulty switch. Sirius has several different types of weapons power-ups. The first is a "ghost ship" that follows you and fires when you fire. Other power-ups include rapid fire guns and rapid fire plus spread fire. You can pick up one extra of each power-up type for reserve so that when you are killed you won't be quite so vulnerable. There are also diamonds that you can pick up but they don't seem to do much other than reward you 300 points. A partially compiled version of Sirius was discovered by Curt Vendel, and thanks to the efforts 7800 enthusiasts Robert DeCrescenzo, Mitchell Orman, and Eckhard Stolberg, made playable on 7800 hardware. It's a shame that Sirius was not released as it was obviously very close to completion and would have been a boost to the 7800 library.

Space Duel

Space Duel

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2007

Space Duel is a port to the Atari 7800 of the third generation of Asteroids-style shooters from Atari, following on the heels of Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe. Unlike Asteroids Deluxe, Space Duel is a more radical departure from its predecessor, featuring a wide variety of colorful geometric shapes you must destroy, and several new types of enemies each with unique behaviors you have to contend with in order to stay alive! In addition, there is a bonus round where players can earn extra points. Like many great games, Space Duel is easy to learn, but takes time and practice to master. Space Duel features several two-player variations including Competition Space Duel where you compete against another player for points (and your shots destroy the other player!), and Team Space Duel where you and another player share reserve ships and don't need to worry about friendly fire. Space Duel comes to life on the Atari 7800 thanks to the efforts of Robert DeCrescenzo, who extensively modified the original version of Asteroids to add all the unique Space Duel gameplay elements, graphics and sounds!

Space Invaders

Space Invaders

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - January 1, 2008

Space Invaders is a two-dimensional fixed shooter game in which the player controls a laser cannon by moving it horizontally across the bottom of the screen and firing at descending aliens. The aim is to defeat five rows of eleven aliens—some versions feature different numbers—that move horizontally back and forth across the screen as they advance towards the bottom of the screen. The player defeats an alien, and earns points, by shooting it with the laser cannon. As more aliens are defeated, the aliens' movement and the game's music both speed up. Defeating the aliens brings another wave that is more difficult, a loop which can continue indefinitely.

Super Pac-Man

Super Pac-Man

Atari 7800 - Homebrew - 2008

t's a Bird...It's a Plane...No, it's Super Pac-Man!!! The Monster Gang from Pac-Man is at it again! Who will stop their dastardly deeds? Never Fear! Super Pac-Man is here to save the maze! Super Pac-Man is a port to the 7800 of the arcade game of the same name. Pac-Man and the monsters from the original Pac-Man return, but this is no ordinary Pac-Man game! In Super Pac-Man you must eat the keys to open doors blocking tasty goodies that you need to snap up to clear the maze. Chomp a Power Pellet to gobble up the Monsters like in classic Pac-Man or forego the mild-mannered munching with a Super Pellet and become the super-sized, super-fast, super-invulnerable Super Pac-Man, capable of smashing down the doors that block your passage! All we have to say is that if Bob DeCrescenzo was writing games for the Atari 7800 "back in the day", the system surely would have been a stellar hit! Super Pac-Man is one of Bob's latest Atari 7800 creations, and another great arcade classic he's brought to the 7800. Super Pac-Man has a unique style compared to most Pac-Man games--your goal in this game is to gobble up keys that open doors giving Pac-Man access to fruits and prizes he must devour, as opposed to dots. Pac-Man can eat Super Power Energizers which turn him into Super Pac-Man. Super Pac-Man is considerably larger in size, can zoom much faster, and can crash through any locked doors. Super Pac-Man can also pass through (over?) ghosts without dying. Pac-Man fans will not want to miss Super Pac-Man on the 7800. Even the intermissions from the original arcade game are included!
