Overview

The gameplay in 221B Baker St. is based on the board game of the same name and allows four players to compete in solving puzzles set in Victorian London. After choosing one of four characters and one of thirty scenarios, the gameplay begins. The file presents the details of the case, lists the people involved and explains what players must deduce to solve the criminal mystery. Solving the puzzles involves moving around London with a roll of the dice, entering locations to collect clues and then piecing them together into a logical whole. Among the fifteen locations available are a pub, a park and a bank, and each location contains a clue, not all of which are useful. Before solving the case, players must visit Scotland Yard to receive a badge. Players can also use the badge to lock a location with a useful clue, forcing a trip to the locksmith on other rivals. Once a player thinks he has solved the case, he must return to Baker Street and answer the questions. If the player fails to provide the correct answers, the game continues.
